Hello my name is Steve Lam and this is my portfolio. I’m a freelance web designer based in Toronto, ON Canada. I love cats, playing music, valid css/xhtml and generally all things music and design related. My aim is to work with indie artists, musicians and small businesses in achieving frenetic designs while adhering to today’s web standards.

So basically, following the creative input of the client I do all of the graphic design, xhtml, css and nifty open-source/public domain script implementation on my own. Initial design mockups are sent and discussed/torn apart through email.

My choice of CMS (aka the backend software the end-user utilizes to maintain and update their pages) is of course, the free and open-source Textpattern. If for some reason a proprietary solution is sought after, I wouldn’t hesitate to instill Expression Engine.

Web testing is done in all of the newest browsers (Firefox 3.x, Safari 4.x, Opera 10.x, Internet Explorer 8.x) as well as some old ones, particularly Internet Explorer 7 and up. Internet Explorer 6 support has been dropped.

Necessary documentation is provided upon near completion of the project once everything is finalized. Deposits/payments are generally done through paypal.
